hubset: Vigor SL wheel systems orbit around the TdF3.4 proprietary hub, designed and manufactured in the USA. The front hub features a unique 85mm wide flange placement which increases lateral wheel stiffness by nearly 20%. Patented Differential Flange Diameter™ on the rear hub lends a mechanical advantage effectively doubling the number of functional pulling spokes; increasing wheel durability. Black, CNC machined hub shells with over sized axles provide high strength, stiffness and light weight. Optimized flange contours provide full spoke elbow support, increasing spoke life. Hubs also feature precision cartridge bearings with low drag supplementary contact seals and bearing preload adjustment on both front and rear hub shells. freehub mechanism: CNC machined Titanium freehub body has 3 sprung steel pawls for a bomb-proof torque transfer system. Pawls are driven by 3 hardened steel leaf springs. The system is strong, simple and dependable.
rims: The 34mm tall single cavity Vigor SL rim is among the lightest alloy clincher rims available anywhere. The rim offers lateral and torsional stiffness similar to the standard Vigor model. The main difference between the two models is the SL’s lighter, thinner spoke. This combination of aerodynamic performance and minimal rotating weight makes Vigor SL wheels the fastest low spoke count clincher wheels available. Brake sidewalls are brushed for smooth, consistent braking performance.
spoke & nipple: Black, 14/17 gauge heat-treated, custom aero profile spokes and internal alloy nipples with nylon inserts contribute to clean aerodynamic performance and superior, long-term durability. Patented, Jacketed Nipple Design™ and Dish Reducing design™ reduce spoke bending loads and rear wheel dish to increase spoke fatigue life.
